Ingredients
PLUM FILLING
  • Crisco® Original No-Stick Cooking Spray
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 1/2 pounds ripe plums, pitted and sliced 1/2-inch thick
STREUSEL
  • 1 cup Pillsbury BEST™ All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 cup Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
  • OR 1/2 stick Crisco® Baking Sticks Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Preparation Directions
  • Step 1Heat oven to 350°F. Coat a shallow baking dish or 10-inch pie plate lightly with no-stick cooking spray.
  • Step 2Combine brown sugar, cornstarch and nutmeg in large bowl. Add plums; stir gently to coat evenly. Place in prepared pan.
  • Step 3Combine flour, shortening, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla and salt in large bowl. Mix with fork until mixture is combined and just crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit mixture.
  • Step 4Bake 45 minutes or until streusel top is crisp. Cool about 10 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
  • TipStreusel is the German word for “sprinkle”. That is exactly what is done when adding the topping. This easy dessert is perfect for summer holiday entertaining.
