Ingredients
BASE
  • 1/2 cup Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
  • OR 1/2 stick Crisco® Baking Sticks Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter
  • OR Array Jif® Extra Crunchy Peanut Butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups Pillsbury BEST™ All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup milk
STREUSEL TOPPING
  • 3 tablespoons Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
  • OR 3 tablespoons Crisco® Baking Sticks Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
  • 1/3 cup Pillsbury BEST™ All Purpose Flour
  • 1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Jif® Creamy Peanut Butter
  • OR Array Jif® Extra Crunchy Peanut Butter
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped peanuts
Preparation Directions
BASE
  • Step 1Heat oven to 350ºF. Coat a 13 x 9-inch pan lightly with no-stick cooking spray.
  • Step 2Combine shortening, brown sugar and peanut butter in large bowl. Beat at medium speed of electric mixer until well blended. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  • Step 3Combine flour and salt in small bowl. Add alternately with milk to shortening mixture at low speed. Beat until well blended. Spread in prepared pan.
TOPPING
  • Step 1Combine shortening, flour, brown sugar and peanut butter. Mix with spoon until well blended and coarse crumbs form. Sprinkle over unbaked base. Sprinkle nuts over top.
  • Step 2Bake 30 to 33 minutes, or until golden brown and center is set. Cool in pan on cooling rack. Cut into 2 1/4 x 1 1/2-inch bars.
