Baby Chicks Easter Cupcakes
Additional ingredients to prepare cake mix per package instructions
Orange candy slices or orange gumdrops
Small orange jelly beans
Black sugar pearl sprinkles
PREPARE cake mix according to package instructions using water, oil and eggs to make 24 cupcakes. Cool completely.
SPREAD thin base layer of green frosting on each cupcake. Decorate edges with candy bits from yellow frostings, if desired.
PLACE yellow frosting in large decorating bag fitted with round tip with wide round opening. Pipe a 1 1/2-inch diameter mound of frosting on top of each cupcake. Pipe another dollop of frosting, slightly off center, on top of each mound.
INSERT two jelly beans at base of bottom mounds to resemble feet. Cut orange slices into small triangles to resemble beaks. Use clean tweezers to place beaks onto top dollops of frosting. Use black sprinkles to create eyes just above the beaks.
