Grinch Cupcake Cones Recipe
Additional ingredients to prepare cake mix per box directions
24 ice jumbo cream cake cones (about 2 ¾ 4-inches tall with flat bottoms)
Piping tip (number 2A and 18)
Green and black food coloring
HEAT oven to 350°F. Prepare cake mix according to box directions. Grease muffin tray thoroughly. Spoon a scant 3 tablespoons batter into each muffin cavity without a liner. (Do not overfill.) Place an inverted cupcake cone on top of each cupcake.
BAKE for 17-22 minutes. Cool completely in muffin tin before removing.
TINT one tub of Funfetti Vanilla frosting light green for the grinch’s face. Frost cooled cupcakes with a butter knife or offset spatula. Add two candy eyes.
SPOON Funfetti Holiday frosting into a piping bag fitted with an open piping tip (number 2A). Top with sprinkles from frosting lid. Pipe a swirl onto the top of the cupcake for the grinch’s hat.
TINT ¼ of the second tub of Funfetti Vanilla frosting black. Keep the remaining frosting white. Spoon white frosting into a piping bag fitted with a small open star piping tip (number 18) and pipe the edging around the grinch’s hat and add a small ball at the top. Use the tinted black frosting to add eyebrows with a piping bag without a tip.
