Celebration Birthday Cookies
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 container , any variety
18 small birthday candles
HEAT oven to 375°F. Prepare cookie dough according to package instructions using butter and egg. Roll into 36 balls. Place on baking sheets, 2 inches apart.
BAKE 7 to 9 minutes or just until cookies are set. Cool on baking sheet 2 minutes. Remove to wire rack to cool completely.
TURN 18 cookies flat side up. Place frosting in decorating bag fitted with star tip. Pipe frosting onto flat side of cookies to cover. Top with remaining cookies, flat side down. Pipe a small swirl of frosting on top of each sandwich cookie. Sprinkle with candy bits from frosting. Insert small birthday candle into frosting on tops of sandwich cookies.
