Ingredients
  • 1 package Pillsbury™ Moist Supreme® Dark Chocolate Flavored Premium Cake Mix
  • Additional ingredients to prepare cake mix per package instructions
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3/4 cup cold heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup Pillsbury™ Creamy Supreme® White Frosting
  • 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
  • Chocolate curls or grated chocolate
Preparation Directions
  • Step 1Prepare cake batter according to package instructions. Mix almond extract into batter. Divide into 3 prepared (9-inch) round cake pans. Bake and cool according to package instructions, but reduce baking time to 19 to 22 minutes.
  • Step 2Beat cream in large bowl with mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form. Blend in frosting.
  • Step 3Level all cake layers with long serrated knife. Place 1 cake layer on serving plate. Top with 3/4 cup frosting mixture. Spoon 1/3 of pie filling over frosting mixture. Repeat all layers two more times. Sprinkle lightly with chocolate, if desired. Chill until ready to serve.
