Funfetti Waffle Birthday Cake Recipe
Additional ingredients to prepare cake mix per box instructions
PREPARE cake batter according to package instructions.
USING a mini waffle maker, pour a small cup of batter onto the griddle and cook for 2-3 or until lightly browned and cooked all the way through. Let cool completely.
Optional: Use entire cake mix to make waffles to make several cakes, waffles leftover or use the extra batter to make cupcakes! We made a 7 layer waffle birthday cake.
PLACE a cooled mini waffle onto a small cake stand. Using a cake spatula or knife, spread frosting onto the first layer. Top with another waffle. Repeat until number of layers desired is reached.
FROST the sides and top of the cake. Place cake into the fridge for 3 hours to chill.
REMOVE cake from fridge and add sprinkles from frosting lids to the cake. Serve immediately.
