Spring Flower Cupcakes Recipe
1 box Pillsbury™ Funfetti® Spring Cake Mix
Additional ingredients to prepare cake mix per box instructions
1 tub Pillsbury™ Funfetti® Aqua Blue Vanilla Flavored Frosting
1 tub Pillsbury™ Funfetti® Vanilla Flavored Frosting
2 piping bags
Open star piping tip (1M)
Leaf piping tip
Green food coloring
PREPARE cake mix according to package instructions using water, oil and eggs to make 24 cupcakes. Add in sprinkles from frosting tub into the batter and stir. Cool cupcakes completely.
DIVIDE Funfetti Vanilla frosting from tub in ½. Add half of the Funfetti vanilla frosting to the tub of Funfetti Aqua Blue frosting in a medium bowl. Stir to combine. If a swirl of colors is desired, stir only several times to partially combine. Spoon frosting into a piping bag fitted with an open star piping tip. In another bowl, tint the remaining half of Funfetti vanilla frosting green. Spoon tinted green frosting into another piping bag fitted with a leaf piping tip.
PIPE frosting onto cupcakes. For a single rose, place the open star piping tip at the center of the cupcake and gradually swirl until reaching the outer edge of the cupcake. For rosettes, place the open star piping tip and make a small twisting motion while applying pressure to form the rosette. Release from cupcake and continue to make other rosettes on cupcake. Add leaves onto flowers as desired with leaf piping tip.
