Valentine's Day Heart Loaf Cake Recipe
INGREDIENTS
2 boxes Pillsbury™ Funfetti® Cake and Cupcake Mix
Additional ingredients to prepare cake mix per box instructions
1 tub Pillsbury™ Funfetti® Valentine’s Day Vanilla Frosting
Pink food coloring
Heart cookie cutter
PREPARATION DIRECTIONS
Step 1
PREHEAT oven to 350° F.
Step 2
PREPARE one box of Funfetti cake mix according to box instructions. Add several drops of pink food coloring and stir until combined.
Step 3
LINE a 9x13 baking sheet with parchment paper and spray lightly with nonstick cooking spray. Spread the pink batter evenly onto the baking sheet. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, around 8-10 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
Step 4
CUT heart shapes out of the pink sheet cake and set aside. Enjoy the scraps of cake leftover as a chef’s treat!
Step 5
PREPARE the second box of Funfetti cake mix according to box instructions. Grease a 9x5 loaf pan with nonstick cooking spray. Spoon half the batter into the loaf pan. Line up the hearts up in the center of the cake. Cover with the remaining batter. Be sure not to overfill the pan.
Step 6
BAKE for 50-60 minutes in preheated oven at 350 degrees or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Step 7
USING a butter knife or flat spatula, frost the top of the loaf cake with frosting. Top with sprinkles from frosting lid.
