48 mini marshmallows
48 small candy eyeballs
PREPARE cake mix according to package instructions, using water, oil and eggs, to make 24 cupcakes. Cool completely according to package instructions.
PLACE 2/3 cup frosting in small heavy-duty plastic bag. Set aside. Frost cupcakes generously with remaining frosting. Decorate cupcakes with candy bits from frosting, if desired.
CUT 1/4-inch corner off bag containing frosting. Pipe a small dab of frosting on each marshmallow. Top with a candy eyeball; gently press into frosting.
INSERT a toothpick into each marshmallow, then insert 2 toothpicks into top of each cupcake to resemble eyes.
